Symphytum Officinale Extract (Comfrey)

Symphytum officinale, an herb in the borage family. Knows as Oman or Comfrey. The root and leaves of the comfrey plant have been used in traditional medicine in many parts of the world. In Japan, the plant has been harvested and used as a traditional treatment for over 2,000 years. It is an important ingredient in our cosmetic formulations.


Often used in ointment, salve, or gel, comfrey reduces inflammation and alleviate pain when applied to the skin. Proponents claim that comfrey cream can treat a variety of health conditions and injuries. Comfrey cream contains several substances thought to possess beneficial properties, including anti-inflammatory compounds and allantoin, a substance thought to speed up wound healing by stimulating the growth of new cells. Comfrey cream is typically used as a topical herbal remedy. It's also used in alternative medicine for bruises, skin disorders and etc.
